My friend Raquel is: a single mother to three amazing girls, a very happy individual, a fighter, one of my favorite people in the world, a partier, a lover of life, funny, beautiful, and battling against breast cancer and all that it brings. Right now, that battle includes chemo, then a double mastectomy, and afterwards, even more chemo. She’s already used all of her paid sick leave at work, and is now taking unpaid time off when her chemo treatments make her too sick to go to work. It’s estimated that “in 2015, about 589,430 Americans are expected to die of cancer,” – cancer.org. Currently, there are an estimated 14.5 million Americans that have either just tested positive for cancer, are alive and fighting, or are losing their battle. These numbers are staggering. Even more so though, is the cost to treat cancer, the cost of chemotherapy, and the cost of a double mastectomy. Your assistance with this project will allow us to get some shirts made to sell at the event and bring even more capacity for raising funds to help my friend Raquel. #RAQUELSTRONG2016 Thank You, Mario Zamarron CEO/210 Local Music & 210 Local Media
